Vehicle Used for C+E Training
Our C+E training is conducted using a modern HGV equipped with a fully automatic 12-speed gearbox. This vehicle features a twin-axle trailer, spanning an overall length of 14.9 meters. This makes reversing more straightforward, providing an ideal training environment for those transitioning to articulated lorries.
Additionally, this vehicle prepares you for the type of trucks frequently used by major companies.
HGV C+E Driving Test Training Includes:
- Reversing Exercise: If you’re already comfortable with reversing, your training time will be reduced. If not, don’t worry—we’ll teach you the reversing test for articulated vehicles. The duration of this training depends on your ability, with one-to-one sessions allowing you to practice at your own pace, free from the pressure to get it right quickly.
- Coupling and Uncoupling the Trailer: We provide thorough training to ensure you can complete this exercise to the required test standard. Detailed instructions are provided before your course begins, and with our one-to-one training, you can practice as much as needed to master the procedure.
- Show Me, Tell Me Questions: These will prepare you for the questions you will face on your test.
MODULE 3A
Driver CPC Part 3a Test: Off-Road Exercises
The Driver CPC Part 3a Test is a practical test that assesses your ability to drive a lorry safely and efficiently off-road. The test consists of a series of exercises, such as:
- Reversing
- Manoeuvring in confined spaces
- Coupling and uncoupling an articulated or drawbar vehicle
The test is taken on a specially designed off-road course at the DVSA Test Centre or DVSA Approved Training Centre.
We are a DVSA Approved Training Centre which means we are able to conduct the 3a Test at our centre.
HGV class 2 (Category C) Course:
